Lisa

Owner, Stylist

With over twenty years experience as a hair designer, Lisa, a graduate of the Arlington Beauty Academy, recently took over ownership of Art & Nature Eco-Salon after many years on staff. She leads her highly trained team with passion and creativity every day. Special occasion hairstyles, especially wedding dos, are her passion and speciality. Whether she's designing looks that compliment facial features or dimensional color placement, Lisa customizes looks to meet her clients' personalities and lifestyles. Her innovative hair designs have been featured at photography shoots and hair shows throughout the country.

Vickie

Stylist

Thanks to the sage advice of her high school guidance counselor, Vickie boasts almost thirty years of experience as a stylist, training with top brands like Davines, Bumble & Bumble, Redken, Toni & Guy and more.  She enjoys every aspect of her job—from cutting to styling to special occasion hair—and has studied specialties like color, razor cutting and blow dry intensives. When working with a client’s hair, she is truly focused and invested. Her “in the moment” mindset complements her great attention to detail and commitment to achieving the desired look.  Inspired by music, she loves to listen to great tunes while creating her latest hair design.

BEST HAIR TIP: “Play with your hair; don’t think about it too much. And always protect your hair from heat tools with professional products.”

Luci

Stylist

A true veteran of the industry, Luci literally grew up in the hair business. Her grandfather was a barber and her mother and aunt were both stylists. “It’s in my DNA,” explained Luci, who started out as a shampoo girl, working for many years at a salon owned by her mother, Edith.

A graduate of Pivot Point, Luci has been doing hair for over 40 years, and was a Certified Volunteer Wig Specialist for the American Cancer Society for 25 years. Despite her rich experience, she stays up to date on hair trends by annually attending the America’s Beauty Show at McCormick Place every March and the Chicago, Chicago conference by John Amico every September. She also keeps her skills fresh by attending monthly workshops and classes with Cosmetologists Illinois in Lake County, where she also teaches courses for the Ladies Division, Hair Color Division, and Braiding Division.

After eight years of doing hair at Art & Nature, Luci loves every aspect of her job, especially watching clients’ happy and satisfied reactions to her work. She especially enjoys helping clients who are “stuck in a rut” and willing to change their hair or look.

BEST HAIR TIP:“Whether it’s a new color for you or shampoo or product, don’t be afraid to try something new."

Krysten

Esthetician

Krysten, Art & Nature’s Licensed Esthetician, is both highly trained in skin care development and knowledgeable about the latest, most advanced technologies in making skin both healthy and beautiful. Since starting her career in 2012, she has focused her work on one simple truth: the skin is the largest organ in the human body, and it absorbs everything it comes in contact with. This means only the best, most natural products will do, and explains Krysten’s deep passion for organic skin care.

With training and master classes in Organic Skin Care, Mechanical Exfoliation and Skin Mapping, to name a few, Krysten brings her passion and high level of expertise to her clientele, who learn how to maintain, preserve, and repair their skin. Specializing in everything from customized Organic Facials and Peels, to Body Waxing and Eyebrow Shaping, Krysten is also fully trained in Eminence Organic Skin Care products, an award-winning line adored by celebrities like Laura Dern, Norah Jones and Alicia Keyes. Handmade using sustainable farming and green practices, these natural and organic products deliver amazing results without parabens, animal by-products or other harsh chemicals like sodium lauryl sulfates.

Krysten’s clients are at the heart of what she does, and she goes above and beyond in providing the best facial experience, including an impressive amount of massage work. She has even trained in the art of Reiki, a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation. Her clients always leave happy and relaxed, but also armed with a wealth of information. Krysten educates her clients on home skin care routines and tips to use in between facials that can lead to drastic and long-lasting results.

In the end, making people happy and healthy is Krysten’s goal and inspiration. “When people look and feel good, they are much happier,” she explained. “You also have to take care of yourself on the inside to look good on the outside.”

BEST BEAUTY TIP: "After any facial or massage it is very important to drink plenty of water to keep the lymph moving and release the toxins. This will keep you hydrated and leave your skin glowing!"
